Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>The pass rate for the National Certificate Education (NCE) Assessment of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 2 stands at 74.6%, this year, for the Republic of Mauritius, announced the Director of the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate (MES), Mrs D.<\/p>\n

S. Thanacoody Soborun, today, at a press conference, at the Headquarters of the MES in Re\u0301duit. A total of 10 832 candidates, out of the 14 527 who sat for the Assessment across 153 examination centres, have succeeded.<\/p>\n

Among the 7 320 female candidates, 5 866 passed the NCE Assessment, reflecting an impressive 80.1% success rate. On the other hand, among the 7 207 male candidates, 4 966 cleared the Assessment, representing a success rate of 68.9%.<\/p>\n

Mrs Thanacoody Soborun expressed her satisfaction with regards to the substantial overall improvements in students’ performance, particularly highlighting the progress in subjects like English, Science, French, and ICT.<\/p>\n

Noting the participation of 2 149 students from the Extended Programme in the NCE Assessment, she emphasised that those who did not achieve the NQF 2 standard received a comprehensive Statement of Attainment, outlining their subject-wise performance.<\/p>\n

She also spoke of the Bright Up Programme launched by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Technology and specifically designed for students who do not succeed in the NCE.<\/p>\n

The MES Director, moreover, provided words of encouragement to those who did not meet the expected standards, advising them to persevere and aim for success by intensifying their efforts.<\/p>\n

Regarding the correction procedure, she reassured that it was executed meticulously to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of the obtained results.<\/p>\n

For Mauritius, the overall pass rate stands at 75.1% with 80.5% for girls and 69.6% for boys. Whereas the success rate for Rodrigues stands at 66.6% and that for Agalega at 57.1%.<\/p>\n
