Africa-Press<\/a> – Mauritius<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Some 28 persons, comprising youth and other members of the community, have completed, today, a one-week training at Lakaz Lespoir, Caritas, in Solitude.<\/p>\n

The training, which is in line with the Ansam Kont Ladrog Campaign, laid emphasis on the extent to which drugs can cause someone to lose control and become vulnerable, and will enable participants to sustain drug prevention activities in their locality.<\/p>\n

This campaign is organised by the Citizen Support Unit team, operating under the aegis of the Prime Minister\u2019s Office (PMO), together with the National Drug Secretariat and the Youth Empowerment Program Against Drug (YEPAD) of the Ministry of Health and Wellness.<\/p>\n

The Ansam Kont Ladrog Campaign is a community-based drug prevention programme which aims to reduce and eliminate the use and abuse of intoxicating and mind-altering substances.<\/p>\n

A total of 20 regions around the country have been earmarked in the first phase of the campaign, whereby those trained will service their respective communities during the second phase of the campaign. On the same occasion, a live programme on the theme Anou Koz Ladrog was organised in Solitude.<\/p>\n

Resource persons were Mr Kunal Naik from the YEPAD, Mrs Nudhar Bundhoo from the PMO, Mr Danny Philippe from the Non-Governmental Organisation Developman, Mrs Sandhya Bohanee from the Ministry of Health and Wellness, and Chief Inspector Naushad Maudoo from the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
