Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>The recently appointed High Commissioner of Australia to Mauritius, Ms Kate Helen Chamley, presented her Letter of Credence to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, today, at the State House, in Re\u0301duit.<\/p>\n

Following the cordial meeting with President Roopun, Ms Chamley highlighted, in a statement, the significance of strengthening the existing longstanding bilateral ties between Australia and Mauritius.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeveral avenues of continued cooperation, including in the fields of blue economy, climate change and maritime security, were on the agenda,\u201d she pointed out. The High Commissioner of Australia, moreover, dwelt on the enduring relations in the education sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe strong Mauritian diaspora in Australia,\u201d she indicated as well, \u201chas been contributing significantly to the economic development of both countries in diverse sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201d Besides, she expressed her keenness to further tap into areas of mutual interest to Mauritius and Australia.<\/p>\n

The High Commissioner has previously served abroad in Kiribati and Pakistan and recently, as Special Adviser, Foreign Arrangements Branch under the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n

Ms Chamley holds a Master of Arts (International Relations) from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Arts (International Studies) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University.<\/p>\n
