Africa-Press<\/a> – Mauritius<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Today marks the reopening of the borders of Mauritius to fully vaccinated visitors, while unvaccinated travellers will be still required to undergo a 14-day in-room quarantine in a designated hotel.<\/p>\n

The Emirates A380 aircraft was the first to land on Mauritian soil at around nine o\u2019clock this morning. Major airlines that flew to Mauritius, today, included British Airways from Gatwick, and Turkish Airlines from Istanbul.<\/p>\n

The country\u2019s flagship carrier Air Mauritius scheduled flights too from Paris and Reunion Island. By noon more than 1,100 passengers had landed at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.<\/p>\n

Other flights are expected from Nairobi (Kenya Airways), Reunion Island (Air Austral), and Johannesburg (Air Mauritius). The total number of passenger arrivals for today is expected to be more than 2,000.<\/p>\n

It is recalled that all fully-vaccinated visitors require a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours from the last point of embarkation and COVID-19 insurance health cover. They have to take a COVID-19 test on day 0 and day 5, and can explore the island after a negative result on day 0.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
