Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>The Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, chaired the seventh meeting of the High-Level Drugs and HIV Council, this afternoon, in the presence of several Ministers, at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.<\/p>\n

Various topics were on the agenda, including the Status of the Implementation of the Recommendations from the Commission of Inquiry on Drug Trafficking Report, drug seizures, Drug Prevention Programme, and Drug Users Administrative Panel (DUAP).<\/p>\n

We also hear that plans are underway to establish a Regional Drug Observatory. The government chief said, \u201cThe establishment of this observatory will step up the fight against drug trafficking.<\/p>\n

\u201d Over 90% of the suggestions made in the Commission of Inquiry on Drugs\u2019 report have already been implemented.<\/p>\n
