Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui has delivered a candid assessment of the club\u2019s turbulent season, bluntly labelling their Premier League campaign as \u201cshitty\u201d while pinning hopes on a Europa League triumph to salvage pride.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at the club\u2019s media day ahead of next week\u2019s Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao, the Moroccan international didn\u2019t hold back.<\/p>\n

\u201cEuropa League season will be a big success, but the Premier League season will be shitty,\u201d Mazraoui said. \u201cThat\u2019s just the reality. Of course, in the end, you might have a trophy, but the Premier League is the main competition \u2014 it\u2019s every week, week in, week out, and that\u2019s what people judge you on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mazraoui, who joined United after spells at top European clubs, admitted the losing culture this season has been difficult to digest.<\/p>\n

\u201cI come from clubs where I’m not used to losing. I will never get used to losing, wherever I am. So yeah, it’s painful,\u201d he said. \u201cLife is sometimes painful, and you just have to go through it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the disappointment, the defender remains upbeat ahead of the high-stakes final, drawing on his World Cup experience with Morocco.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not my first high-pressure game. I\u2019ve played in a World Cup semi-final,\u201d he said. \u201cThis is similar in a way. I love the pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Manchester United\u2019s domestic woes hit a new low after their 17th league defeat \u2014 a 2-0 home loss to West Ham \u2014 which left them 16th in the Premier League table. Head coach Ruben Amorim described the season as \u201cembarrassing,\u201d even suggesting it might be the worst team in the club\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

United now look to the Europa League final as a last chance at silverware \u2014 and Champions League qualification \u2014 in what has been a chaotic campaign marked by inconsistency, internal tension, and mounting pressure on players and staff alike.<\/p>\n
