The fifth session of the Job and Training Fair took place at Cascavelle Mall, organized by the Ministry of Labour and Industrial Relations. This initiative aims to reduce unemployment and promote skills development, particularly for youth, women, and persons with disabilities. The fair featured various employers and training institutions, offering guidance and resources for jobseekers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong> <\/span>The fifth session of the Job and Training Fair was organised, today, at Cascavelle Mall, in line with the Government Programme 2025\u20132029, by the Ministry of Labour and Industrial Relations as part of its mandate to accompany jobseekers through training programmes and job placement initiatives. The event is a single platform for recruitment, career guidance, and skills development.<\/p>\n

The Ministry has thus adopted a proactive approach to support the national objectives of reducing unemployment, addressing skills mismatches, and promoting inclusive participation in the labour force\u2014especially for youth, women, and persons with disabilities. During the fair, the Ministry provided information on its employability enhancement programmes, notably the Youth Employment Programme and Women Back to Work Programme. Jobseekers also received guidance from the Careers Guidance Service Unit on future career prospects, re-orientation, and strategies for building sustainable, lifelong careers.<\/p>\n

Several employers from different sectors were present too at the Job and Training Fair to showcase their enterprises, promote available vacancies, and connect more efficiently with a pool of potential talent.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the fair featured a training component to guide participants towards relevant upskilling and reskilling opportunities. Among the training institutions present were the Mauritius Institute of Training and Development (MITD), the Ecole Ho\u0302telie\u0300re Sir Gae\u0308tan Duval, the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC), Polytechnics Mauritius and the Academy of Design and Innovation.<\/p>\n

Representatives of the National Empowerment Foundation were also present to guide individuals registered on the Social Register of Mauritius (SRM) towards suitable training and employment opportunities.<\/p>\n

Previous editions of the Job and Training Fair were organised in Grand Baie, Rose Belle, and Flacq, as well as at the Port Louis Victoria Urban Terminal.<\/p>\n

The Job and Training Fair is part of the Government Programme 2025\u20132029, which focuses on enhancing employability and reducing unemployment in Mauritius. Previous fairs have been held in various locations, reflecting the government’s commitment to addressing skills mismatches and fostering inclusive participation in the labor market. The initiative aims to provide a comprehensive platform for jobseekers to connect with potential employers and access training resources, thereby supporting the national workforce development goals.<\/p>\n
