Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>More than 2000 Mauritians are set to test their general knowledge in science, technology, engineering and mathematics via the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre\u2019s (RGSC) three-day Online Quiz Competition 2021.<\/p>\n

The competition, scheduled on 22, 24 and 26 November as part of the RGSC\u2019s National Science Week 2021, thus kickstarted yesterday with the participation of some 700 citizens.<\/p>\n

It is being organised by the RGSC Trust Fund in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology. The RGSC has in fact received around 700 registrations for each quiz, and is as such expecting more than 2000 Mauritians, in total, to compete and test their knowledge.<\/p>\n

The modalities entail registered participants to access the competition via a link sent on the day of each quiz. They are required to submit their answers through an online questionnaire which is a multiple choice with three possibilities and with only one correct answer.<\/p>\n

The questionnaire is enabled at 19.00 hours and disabled at 19.15 hours. A time limit of 12 minutes is being imposed for each quiz. The winners will be chosen on the basis of highest mark-lowest response time and if necessary, a lucky draw will be conducted.<\/p>\n

Two winners will be designated for each quiz and each will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 1,000. Winners will be contacted by email or phone by resource persons from the RGSC.<\/p>\n

It is recalled that the RGSC aims at promoting and enhancing the public understanding of science and technology in the Republic of Mauritius. One of its core objectives is to supplement science education at all levels as well as to encourage creativity and innovation particularly among young people.<\/p>\n
