Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>The Vice-President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Marie Cyril Eddy Boiss\u00e9zon, launched, this afternoon, the novel entitled \u2018Les Sino-Mauriciens entre l\u2019exil et l\u2019’\u00eele Maurice- Un recueil de chroniques \u00e9parses sur la perte de traditions orales chinoises\u2019 penned by Mr Roland Tsang Kwai Kew, during a ceremony held at the Audi Zentrum, R\u00e9duit.<\/p>\n

In his address on the occasion, the Vice-President underlined that writing is a powerful vector of emancipation which increases tenfold the power of our imagination, and therefore invites us to dream and to ponder.<\/p>\n

This is how, he remarked, that the author Roland Tsang Kwai Kew invites us to share his thoughts on his doubt about the loss of Chinese oral traditions through a journey through time.<\/p>\n

He further said that the book weaves together pieces of chronicles, and extracts from newspapers, which make us reflect on the population of our country, the contribution of immigrants from all over the world, some with their hopes, others with their sufferings, and resentment at having been deceived, who quickly pulled themselves together to build the country.<\/p>\n

Mr Marie Cyril Eddy Boiss\u00e9zon further highlighted that he is grateful to all local authors who put their talents, their careers and their commitments to the prosperity of the country.<\/p>\n

He added that reading has a decisive influence and a founding role in everyone’s life and stressed that it is imperative that everyone, from an early age, develop a reading culture.<\/p>\n
