Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, launched, this afternoon during an official ceremony, the 28th edition of \u2018Collection Maurice: Parfin Paradi \u2013 Heavens redeemed \u2013 Au seuil du bonheur\u2019, organised by Immedia at Hennessy Park Hotel in Eb\u00e8ne.<\/p>\n

The Vice-President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Eddy Boiss\u00e9zon, and other eminent personalities were also present at the launching ceremony. In his address, President Roopun commended the Immedia team for their work, as well as authors for their creativity, which enabled the 28th edition of Collection Maurice to be published.<\/p>\n

He recalled that it is a tradition for the President of the Republic, since the first edition of Collection Maurice, to launch this publication. President Roopun also observed that this year\u2019s theme for the 28th edition comes at an opportune time as it will bring some optimism in the lives of citizens, especially with the current worldwide situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

He further appealed to those present to continue to abide by sanitary measures so as to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the country. The first edition of Collection Maurice, which aims at depicting the Mauritian reality, was launched in 1994.<\/p>\n

Since then, the publication comprised texts in French, English, and Creole. This year, for the 28th edition, some 24 authors wrote 28 nouvelles\/short stories\/zistwar for Collection Maurice.<\/p>\n

As at date, a total of 807 nouvelles\/short stories\/zistwar from 157 authors have been published. Following the official launching ceremony, several authors read some nouvelles\/short stories\/zistwar to those present.<\/p>\n

Former President of the Republic, Mr Cassam Uteem also gave his views and impressions to the audience about some of the nouvelles\/short stories\/zistwar of Collection Maurice.<\/p>\n
