Africa-Press – Mozambique. Mozambican boxer Rady Gramane last weekend won a silver medal in the Bocskai Memorial Tournament, which took place in Hungary from the 8th to the 12th of February.

Fighting in the 75 kg category, Rady lost the final and is bringing home the silver. It is the first time she has participated in the competition, which drew 15 elite national teams from various continents.

In addition to Rady Gramane, Mozambique was represented by Alcinda Panguana, who did not reach the medal stage. Gramane and Panguana also represented Mozambique in the last Olympic Games, which took place in Tokyo.

The 66th Bocskai Memorial Tournament was the first test event of a newly established World Boxing Tour presented by the IBA. The five-day competition, which is traditionally held every year, took place in the usual venue in Debrecen, Hungary from February 8th to 12th.

After the Strandja Memorial Tournament, the Bocskai Memorial Tournament is one of the oldest international competitions in Europe, this latest edition proving a great success with a high level of boxing on display.

Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Hungary, Montenegro, Mozambique, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine and Wales participated in the 2022 tournament.

23 celebrated their medals and money prizes at the 66th Bocskai Memorial Tournament

Final bouts were held in the last fifth competition day at the 66th Bocskai Memorial Tournament in Debrecen, Hungary.

Brazil, Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia and Belarus earned the titles of the men’s weight categories.

Brazil was the best female team in Debrecen with 4 gold medals and their male boxers earned five gold medals

Women boxers from Turkey, Serbia, Ukraine, Poland, England and Hungary also became champions of the tournament.

Yuriy Zakharieiev from Ukraine was awarded as the Best Boxer in the final competition day.
