Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Union of the Comoros pledged in Maputo last Thursday to support Mozambique in the fight against the terrorism plaguing some districts in the centre and north of Cabo Delgado province, specifically offering help in the area of intelligence.
The commitment was offered during a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Verónica Macamo, and her Comoros counterpart Dhoihir Dhoulkamal.
Speaking after the meeting, Dhoihir Dhoulkamal said that his country hoped to support Mozambique through intelligence services, an area of great importance to the security of a country.
″As you know, in security matters, the intelligence services are very important. Also, because we are members of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), which has decided to support Mozambique in the fight against terrorism. We will make our contribution in the context of SADC, but over time we will clearly define what the contribution will be,” Dhoihir Dhoulkamal explained.
