Africa-Press – Mozambique. Four individuals are in police custody at the fourth police station in Maputo, for illegal possession of a revolver and 11 rounds of ammunition. Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) suspect that the weapon was used to carry out various crimes.
According to Maputo PRM spokesperson, Leonel Muchina, the weapon was brought from Inhassoro, Inhambane province, where one of the accused stole some money in a briefcase, which also contained the weapon, from his employer.
“The accused stole the briefcase that contained the money along with the weapon. Arriving in Maputo, it began to be passed from hand to hand. We suspect that this weapon was used to commit various crimes,” Muchina said.
