Africa-Press – Mozambique. The resettlement of 272 families in the Mboza region, on the outskirts of the city of Moatize, should finish this week.

According to Moatize district administrator Eugénio Muchanga, only ten of the families remain to be resettled and are still in Kapanga.

Muchanga said that the resettled families would take possession of their houses early this week, putting an end to a dispute that has lasted years.

Muchanga said that most of the demands of the families concerned have already been met.

The more than 272 T-2 type houses in the resettlement area were built by mining company International Coal Ventures (ICVL).

In addition to housing, ICVL has built a water supply system, health unit and police station in Mboza, along with educational establishments, a market and other social infrastructure.
