Africa-Press – Mozambique. The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) on Thursday (04-05) publicly presented three citizens suspected of involvement in a kidnapping at a Maputo city alcoholic drinks store in February.
Two of the detainees are protection police (PRM) agents assigned to the city of Maputo, and the other a National Criminal Investigation Service [SERNIC] agent assigned to Maputo province.
The detainees deny their involvement in the crime, but Sernic says that their arrest comes as part of investigations being carried out with a view to combating organised crime.
The kidnap victim in question is still in captivity.
