Cashew processor Condor Anacardium opens Daycare Centre for workers’ children

Africa-Press – Mozambique. Condor Anacardium, a cashew processing facility located in Macia Village, inaugurated a Daycare Centre in its facility for its workers’ children.

The opening event took place on the 6th of May, at 2:30 pm, and was attended by the children’s mothers and families, as well as several guests who support the project.

With the Daycare Centre, Condor Anacardium intends to “prepare the children for their entry in the School, allowing them to have access to a dedicated and safe place, right from the beginning of their academic life”, said Gonçalo Correia, the company director, in his speech at the event.

The Daycare Centre is open to the workers’ children who are up to 5 years old, and there is no financial cost to the parents. Two meals a day are offered to each child.

The project is an initiative supported by two of the company’s clients, Lorenz and Brynild, who were also able to attend the opening event.

The three companies believe that “education is the foundation of all human development”. Condor Anacardium processes cashew nuts, and has around 800 workers on its factory, of which 85% are women.
