Speaker of Botswana’s National Assembly starts official visit to Mozambique

Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Botswana, Phandu Skelemani, this Monday (16-05) starts an official four-day visit to Mozambique at the invitation of his counterpart, Esperança Bias.

A communiqué from the Assembly of the Republic indicates that the two officials will hold formal talks in parliament today and sign a cooperation protocol.

Also this first day of his visit, Skelemani will hold meetings with the heads of the parliamentary benches of Frelimo, Renamo and MDM, the communique adds.

Phandu Tombola Chaka Skelemani served in the government of Botswana as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2008 to 2014. A member of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), Skelemani is a Member of Parliament in the National Assembly of Botswana and a member of the Pan-African Parliament from Botswana, and he served as Attorney-General of Botswana from 1992 to 2003.
