Africa-Press – Mozambique. Renowned Mozambican boxing coach Justino Gudo died on Weednesday afternoon in Maputo after a prolonged illness.

Gudo, a dean of national boxing, had been ill recently, a fact that somewhat distanced him from the “noble art”.

He coached boxing teams at Ferroviário, Maxaquene, Casa Lido, Nucleo Mandla and Rectificadora LM, the club he managed in the last years of his life.

Coach Justino Gudo brought forward great national boxers such as Paulo Jorge, Diamantino Vasco, Elísio Manhiça and Archer Fausto, qualifying some of them for international competitions.

He was admitted to Maputo Central Hospital on Tuesday after his health deteriorated and, 24 hours later, the worst was confirmed.

The deceased leaves a widow and children, to whom we convey our deepest condolences.
