Africa-Press – Mozambique. A major fire broke out early last night (31), destroying several compartments of a tourist resort located in the administrative post of Chidenguele, Gaza province.
The head of that administrative post, Manuel Bambo, confirmed the occurrence and said that an individual, a neighbour of the establishment, was taken to the cells of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique for investigations around the case.
Bambo also explained that the fire started at the residence of the individual who is being detained, which is a neighbour of the tourist resort “Lake View”. In his house there was a fire lit, for cooking food. Due to the force of the wind, some sparks fell on the roof of the restaurant of the tourist resort , which was made up of reed and thus, the fire broke out across the [restaurant’s] room and also devoured the kitchen, leaving the enterprise’s compartments in ashes.
“This is not arson, it was something accidental, but the author is in custody and investigations into the causes are already underway”, he stressed.
