Mozambique reports highest daily Covid-19 death toll, 1,304 new cases

Africa-PressMozambique. Mozambique this Thursday reported 24 Covid-19 deaths, the highest daily coronavirus death toll so far. The victims were aged between 25 and 98 years old, 17 men and seven women, all Mozambicans.

Two of these deaths were declared on Tuesday (July 13], 18 were declared on Wednesday (July 14) and four on Thursday (July 15).

The total death toll from Covid-19 in Mozambique now stands at 1,057,

The Ministry of Health reported today a further 1,304 confirmed cases of Covid-19, out of 4.603 tests performed in the previous 24 hours..

Of the newly diagnosed patients, 539 are Mozambican nationals and 765 of nationalities yet to be ascertained.

Maputo city registered 524 new cases, corresponding to 40.% of the total new cases reported today, followed by Tete province with 218 cases, equivalent to 16.7 #.

There are records of 69 new hospital admissions and 58 discharges in the last 24 hours, with 406 patients currently hospitalised.

In the last 24 hours, 526 individuals, 510 Mozambicans and 16 foreigners, have been declared as fully recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries since the outbreak to 74,918.

Mozambique has, as of this Thursday, 18,754 active cases of the new coronavirus.
