Three arrested for alleged illegal sale of National Health System medicines

Africa-Press – Mozambique. Three individuals aged between 35 and 46 have been detained in the Zambézia provincial PRM command for the sale of medicines illegally sourced from the National Health System.

The arrest took place in Mugeba village market, in Mocuba district, where the detainees were found to be in possession of unspecified quantities of drugs.

Asked about the origin of the medicines, the suspects alleged that they had bought them from private pharmacies in Mozambique and in neighbouring Malawi.

PRM spokesman Miguel Caetano said that the detainees had been engaged in the illegal sale of National Health Service medicines for three years.
