Africa-Press – Mozambique. Unknown individuals, still at large, robbed a semi-public passenger transport vehicle last Friday and tortured seven passengers in the vehicle, bound for Mavago district, in Niassa, reads a Notícias online report.
The victims received health care at the Mavago District Hospital and are out of danger, said the spokeswoman for the Provincial Police Command of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM), in Niassa, Mirza Maguanda.
“Yes, we have confirmed a case of theft in Mavago, Individuals put up barricades on the public road, forcing the driver to stop. They looted goods [from the mini-bus] and left. The individuals were armed with two AK47 firearms and a pistol. They physically assaulted the passengers, seven of whom have minor injuries,” she added, quoted by RM.
