Africa-Press – Mozambique. A fifty-four-year-old man in Cuamba district, Niassa province, has been arrested for allegedly taking a 11-year-old girl as his wife.
The man was detained at his home, where he had lived with the minor since 2019.
This union is the result of an agreement between the minor’s mother and the detainee, National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) spokesman for Niassa, Almeida Matangue, told the press in Lichinga this Monday.
Matangue said that the case had been sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings.
