Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Minister of National Defence, Cristóvão Chume, is visiting India from Monday, October 17th, until Friday, October 21st, to participate in the 12th edition of the Defence Exhibition and the second edition of the India-Africa Defence Dialogue (held on Monday), in the state of Gujarat.
The minister will also participate in the Indian Ocean Region Plus conclave being held today, October 18th.
According to a note from the Mozambican Ministry of Defence, the exhibition is a forum for the exhibition of military equipment promoted by the Ministry of Defence of India and is considered the largest of its kind on the Asian continent, attracting defence sector exhibitors from the great world powers.
The India-Africa dialogue will also see signed the Gandhinagar Declaration, a compact dealing with the defence industry, defence in space, cyber security, maritime security and counter-terrorism.
A bilateral meeting is also scheduled, where matters related to Mozambique and India will be discussed, with a focus on naval cooperation between the two countries.
