Africa-Press – Mozambique. The City of Maputo this Thursday, November 10, celebrates 135 years of elevation to city status.
On the occasion of the celebrations for the elevation of the city of Maputo, the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Margarida Talapa, has granted a special holiday (tolerancia de ponto) to all workers and civil servants in the country’s capital.
The document that Miramar had access to states that the special holiday does not cover workers whose activity, by its nature, cannot be interrupted.
The celebrations of the capital city’s 135th anniversary will be marked, among others, by the 17th edition of the Batuque (drumming) Festival.
