Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Governor of Sofala province, Lourenço Ferreira Bulha, has inaugurated 14 drinking water sources budgeted at 7 million meticais, which will benefit more than 4,200 inhabitants of the district of Marromeu.

Bulha said on Monday (12-12) during a two-day visit to the district, that the water sources were seen as guaranteeing the primary care of the population, minimising human-animal conflict along the Zambezi River and reducing the distances involved in satisfying demand for drinking water.

Governor Bulha appealed to the beneficiaries to be careful and vigilant against any vandalism, drawing attention to the newly created management committee composed of reputable community members, mandated with keeping the sources functional.

The project results from a partnership between the Provincial Executive Council of Sofala and UKAID.

The ceremony was witnessed by members of the provincial Executive Council and Marromeu District government and other guests.
