President appoints new ambassador to the U.S.

Africa-Press – Mozambique. President of the Republic Filipe Nyusi yesterday appointed, by Presidential Order, Alfredo Fabião Nuvunga to the post of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Mozambique to the United States of America.

He will replace Ambassador Carlos dos Santos, who was discharged yesterday through a separate Presidential Order.

Alfredo Fabião Nuvunga previously served as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Mozambique to the African Union, and was Ambassador to Ethiopia until October of last year. He has also served as Director for Regional and Continental Integration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Mozambique.
