Africa-Press – Mozambique. Nacala-à-Velha and Memba districts in Nampula province have been without national grid electricity since Tuesday (24-01) as a result of bad weather in the region.
In a press release, Electricidade de Moçambique (Mozambique Electricity-EDM) “informs its esteemed customers and the general public that yesterday, January 24, 2023, the supply of electricity was interrupted for 31,276 customers in the districts of Nacala-a-Velha and Memba, in the province of Nampula, due to the downing of 11 medium voltage poles, as a result of the bad weather in that part of the country”.
“EDM teams are on the ground, aiming at restoring the normal supply of electricity to the affected areas as soon as possible,” the same press release advises.
