Africa-Press – Mozambique. Seventy-one families made homeless by floods in the Guachene [Guaxene] neighbourhood, Katembe district, Maputo city, will be relocated to neighbourhoods in the Marracuene district, Maputo province, Rádio Moçambique reports.
The announcement was made this Tuesday by the Secretary of State in Maputo City during the visit to monitor the impact of the rain in the Katembe and KaMaxakeni municipal districts.
Vicente Joaquim highlighted the need for measures to control the return of resettled families to areas prone to flooding.
The Secretary of State in the country’s capital says that negotiations are currently underway with the district government of Marracuene, Maputo province, for the resettlement of Maputo flood victims.
