Africa-Press – Mozambique. The National Roads Administration (ANE) in Cabo Delgado today announced the suspension of traffic on the Macomia-Oasse [Awasee], Mecufi-Mazeze, Namuno-Meloco and Namuno-Machoca road sections, Notícias online reports. This is due to flooding and the appearances of large potholes following the heavy rain falling over the last few days.
According to the ANE note, the Macomia-Awasse road was cut by flooding in the Messalo river basin. Traffic is suspended on the road connecting Mecufi-Mazeze due to flooding and cuts in the roadway, while the Namuno-Meloco section is severed by soil erosion, and the Namuno-Machoca section by unspecified damage to the platform.
