Africa-Press – Mozambique. The official Facebook page of President of the Republic Filipe Nyusi has announced that Mozambique is to receive 10 more rhinos for Zinave National Park (PNZ) in the districts of Mabote and Govuro in Inhambane and a small part of Massangena district in Gaza province.

The PNZ covers 408,843 hectares and hosts a diversity of animal species, including 200 tree and 200 grass species.

The president wrote that, “within the repopulation of Zinave National Park, I am happy to learn that the female rhinoceros that I baptised with the name ‘Princesa Inocente’ has just had a cousin born from a white rhino. This new rhino will contribute to the diversification of the park’s species”.

Continuing, the head of state announces that “still in this scope, in July this year we will receive ten more rhinos, five white and five black. It is our obligation to fight for the preservation of biodiversity by disseminating endangered species”.

“We will remain committed to investing in our parks in order to encourage tourism in our beautiful Mozambique,” Filipe Nyusi said.

In recent years, Mozambique and its partners have made great efforts to recover the ecosystem in terms of repopulation and expansion of conservation areas, with good results in Gorongosa National Park, Niassa, Zinave, Limpopo, Maputo and Chimanimani.
