Africa-Press – Mozambique. The National Elections Commission (CNE) has decided not to extend the overall ongoing voter registration period, but will extend working hours on Friday (02-06) and Saturday (06/03).
Today, Friday, June 02, voter registration posts will operate an extra five hours, that is, until 10 p.m., and on Saturday, June 03, they will be open for an extra seven hours, that is, until midnight.
The decision means the CNE is clearly ruling out the extension in days of the registration period, in order to allow hundreds of voters to still be able to register. The city of Beira still had just over 100,000 potential voters unregistered.
