Africa-Press – Mozambique. One-year inflation in Mozambique dropped to 6.81% in June, the lowest figure in 14 months, according to data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE) on Wednesday.

“The reduction in inflation in June is explained by the drop in the price of cereals on the international market and the increased domestic supply of fruits and vegetables,” the INE’s Consumer Price Index for June 2023 reports.

In May of this year, the one-year inflation rate in Mozambique was 8.23%, at the time the lowest monthly growth value in 13 months, according to the INE.

In comparison with May, the monthly rate of change in inflation in Mozambique fell by 0.58%, but the accumulated figure since the beginning of the year indicates an increase of 2.57%, the INE reports.
