Africa-Press – Mozambique. The company Aeroportos de Moçambique (ADM) still has no answers regarding the unusual episode recorded last Friday, in which a woman carrying a baby boarded a private plane and sat in the captain’s seat, without being part of any airport team or crew.

According to the note we had access to, investigations to determine the circumstances in which the woman entered the airfield in the city of Pemba, in Cabo Delgado and, above all, boarded the aircraft, are still ongoing, while measures are also being taken to ensure that such a situation does not arise again, for the safety and comfort of users of those services.

In the video circulating on social media, the woman, who speaks Emakwa, says she comes from Changa in the administrative post of Murrébue, Mecúfi district, 30 kilometres from the city.

The episode went viral on social media, mainly because she managed to board an aircraft parked at the airport, which is supposed in theory to enjoy good security.

The protagonist in the unusual incident is known to the residents of Pemba and Mecúfi and, according to reports, suffers from mental disorders.

A statement from the ADM states that, after becoming aware of what had happened, the Board of Directors notified the security authorities, who began investigations to determine the circumstances of the incident.

The document states that “the safety of airports and all users is a priority in our management, and airport authorities have reinforced protocols and are reviewing operational standards across the country. The company is committed to ensuring that airports are comfortable, safe places which offer a quality experience to passengers and users”.
