Power outage leaves Central District and Polana without electricity

Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Central District and part of Polana Cimento in the city of Maputo have been without electricity since yesterday afternoon due to a fault in the substation that supplies power to the area. Technical teams from Electricidade de Moçambique, led by the President of the Board of Directors, Marcelino Gildo, are working to ensure the normal resumption of power supply.

The outage, which occurred around 1:00 p.m., affected 10,000 consumers, including those in Malhangalene and Coop, of which six thousand customers have already had their power restored.

It is expected that the remaining customers will have electricity back in the next few hours, as assured by Marcelino Gildo last night.
