This week, work began on the construction of a 30-metre bridge and seven culverts on a two-kilometre section of National Highway Number 13 (N13) between Mandimba and Cuamba, which crosses the Lugenda River basin in Congerenge administrative post, Mandimba district, Niassa province.
The work – part of the rehabilitation of the damage caused by Cyclone Freddy – is expected to last seven months.
During construction, traffic will be directed to a detour specifically built for the purpose, with a speed limit of 15 kilometres per hour.
