Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Assembly of the Republic this Wednesday approved generally and by consensus the proposal to revise Law no. 16/2012, of 14 August – the Public Probity Law.

The review implies, among other innovations, the need for agents from the Police of the Republic of Mozambique, Municipal Police and the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC), regardless of their rank, to make a Declaration of Assets and Income.

The other innovation stipulates that public servants covered by this law are to make the Declaration of Assets electronically, unlike previously, when they had to fill out a form to be delivered to the Attorney General’s Office.

Upon approval, deputies from the three benches highlighted that the revision of this law would help combat the illicit enrichment of public servants due to their position, mandate, function, activity or employment in the public servant.
