Africa-Press – Mozambique. The participation of the private sector in public tenders for solar energy production and storage projects ensures greater competitiveness in the Mozambican market.

In this context, the Energy Regulatory Authority (ARENE) convened national and international investors in Maputo on Thursday to share information related to this business. The event was led by the Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, António Saíde.

The meeting targeted independent producers, financiers, and other stakeholders under the GET FIT (Global Energy Transfer – Feed-in Tariff) program, which aims to support African countries in developing initiatives to enhance investments in renewable energies. This program was launched in 2022 with the support of the German government.

Speaking at the event, António Saíde explained that the government’s policy and strategy for the energy sector focuses on increasing access, improving quality and security of supply, and continuously enhancing availability to meet the growing needs resulting from the country’s development.
