Africa-Press – Mozambique. A large fire has reportedly threatened tourist facilities in the Chizavane area, administrative post of Chidenguele, in Gaza province.
According to a TV Sucesso report , large areas of Chizavane were devastated by a fire which broke out on on Tuesday afternoon,. Local residents report the imminent danger as the fire approaches the tourist area.
Fire Department spokesperson Abel Simango said that his team was committed to containing the fire from spreading and putting out the flames, citing “human error” as one possible cause of the blaze.
This is the second fire recorded in the area this year.
Meanwhile, with summer approaching, SENSAP spokesperson Abel Simango has called for strict compliance with fire safety measures, especially in forest areas, and for the monitoring of electrical installations in urban areas.
