Africa-Press – Mozambique. On Thursday, May 15, the Minister of National Defence, Cristóvão Chume, granted five courtesy audiences to diplomatic representatives accredited in Mozambique and to an Angolan delegation in his office in Maputo, as part of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the field of defence.

In separate audiences, the Minister of Defence held meetings with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye, Ferhat Alkan; the High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa, Puleng Chaba; the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom, Helen Lewis; and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, Mette Sunnergren.

The audiences of the Minister of National Defence culminated in the reception of a delegation from the Republic of Angola, also as part of the strengthening of bilateral relations in the defence sector.

These meetings are part of the Mozambican government’s efforts to deepen cooperation with partner countries, with a view to promoting regional stability and strengthening institutional defence capabilities.
