Africa-Press – Mozambique. This Monday, the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, will lead the opening of the 16th Symposium on Hydraulics and Water Resources and the 11th Congress on Planning and Management of Coastal Zones in Portuguese-speaking Countries, which will be held in the city of Maputo.
The meetings will bring together experts, academics, professionals and representatives of civil society from Portuguese-speaking countries, with the aim of sharing experiences and discussing sustainable solutions to the challenges of climate change, with a focus on integrated water management and the protection of coastal zones.
The initiative is promoted by the Association of Water Professionals of Mozambique (Aquashare) and the Mozambican Association for Environmental Impact Assessment (AMAIA), in partnership with similar entities from Portuguese-speaking countries, namely: the Brazilian Association of Water Resources (ABRHidro), the Cape Verdean Association of Water Resources (ACRH) and the Portuguese Association of Water Resources (APRH).
According to a note from the Presidency of the Republic, the events are held under the motto “Management of Water Resources and Coastal Zones in Climate Adaptation Scenarios”.
