Africa-Press – Mozambique. Culture is an asset for the national economy, argued Mozambique’s Secretary of State for Arts and Culture, Matilde Muocha, during a meeting at her office with Belmiro Quive, the president of the Cultural and Creative Industries Department of the Federation of Business Associations of Mozambique (CTA) on Monday.
On that occasion, Matilde Muocha presented the Arts and Culture sector’s structure, as well as the government’s priorities regarding the implementation of the National Development Strategy, the government’s Five-Year Plan, and the 2025 Economic and Social Plan, instruments which define culture as a priority for strengthening national identity, as well as an asset to the economy.
Belmiro Quive, in turn, expressed the CTA’s willingness to support the government, through the Ministry of Education and Culture, in implementing the sector’s initiatives, demonstrating particular interest in the approval of the Cultural Sponsorship/Patronage Law and Regulations, as well as in the improvement of the legal and organizational framework for the development of cultural and creative industries.
It was agreed that both parties would transform the proposed activities into a joint work agenda, subject to ongoing monitoring of its level of compliance.
