On the sidelines of the 66th Session of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Mozambique’s Minister of Economy, Basílio Muhate, held bilateral meetings with key figures such as WIPO’s Director General Daren Tang; the Director General of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services, Vincent Subilia; and with Michele Bordiga, Senior Vice-President in Geneva of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).

The meetings reinforced support for youth, women, and SMEs in the field of intellectual property, and promoted Mozambique as a competitive investment destination in the agriculture, industry, energy, tourism, and logistics sectors.

Also noteworthy were invitations to participate in the 60th FACIM (August 2025) and the International Tourism Conference (FIKANI, November 2025) extended at the meetings.

The MSC was encouraged to invest in tourism and to integrate Mozambican companies into global value chains.
