Africa-Press – Mozambique. Léo Cote, in the poetry category, and Mélio Tinga, prose, are the winners of the Mia Couto Literary Prize, which recognizes the best book of the year by Mozambican authors.

Cote won with the Poetry work “Instalação do Corpo” (Body Installation) and Tinga with his fiction work “Névoa na Sala” (Fog in the Room).

The announcement was made at the closing of the Beira Book Fair, organized by the Kulemba Association.

Both winners received a cash prize of 400,000 meticais, funded by Cornelder of Mozambique

The jury was composed of Nataniel Ngomane (president) and Mozambican writers Marcelo Panguana and Teresa Noronha, the Cape Verdean Joaquim Arena, and Brazilian university professor Vanessa Pinheiro.
