Africa-Press – Mozambique. Google is giving a select group of its most loyal fans the chance to test unreleased Pixel smartphones, under strict secrecy. According to a report from Bloomberg, the company is running a limited program through its Pixel Superfans group to find 15 non-employees to evaluate upcoming devices, including the Pixel 11.
Participants will be required to sign a strict non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and keep the prototype phones in specially designed cases to conceal appearance.
While it is common for companies to conduct product testing, it is rare for a major brand like Google to open its tightly guarded pre-release process to the public, even if it is a carefully selected group.
Superfans interested in joining the testing program must prove their deep knowledge of the Pixel lineup and offer suggestions for improvements. The initiative is described as a way to “help shape a Pixel phone currently in development.”
The superfans group, which typically offers perks like freebies and exclusive event access, has never offered early device testing, making the test its most significant benefit yet.
The company is reportedly hoping to gather feedback in time to finalize features for the Pixel 11, expected to launch in August 2026. The more affordable Pixel 10a is also slated to arrive in the spring of 2026.
Although leaks have plagued Google devices in the past, the company is taking extra precautions to prevent test units from ending up online. Unique hardware identifiers and tough legal agreements are designed to keep testers compliant.
Fans can apply to join the Superfans community, though it may take weeks for approval. Google has not yet announced when the selection process will begin.
