Africa-Press – Mozambique. The President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, on Wednesday began a working visit to the Republic of Zambia, in response to an invitation extended by his counterpart, Hakainde Hichilema.

During his stay in the neighbouring country, President Chapo will participate as guest of honour in the celebrations of the 61st anniversary of Zambia’s independence, marked on October 24, and will lead the Mozambican delegation in official talks between the governments of the two countries.

As part of the visit, head of state will also attend a Mozambique-Zambia business roundtable, and will hold an interactive audience with the Mozambican community residing in that country.

The visit, which ends on Friday, aims to strengthen and deepen the historic ties of solidarity, friendship, and political, economic, and socio-cultural cooperation between Mozambique and Zambia and their peoples.

The President of the Republic is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas; Minister of Transport and Logistics, João Jorge Matlombe; Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Estêvão Rafael Pale; and by the Secretary of State for Industry, Custódia Paúnde, as well as officials from the Presidency of the Republic and other state institutions.
