Africa-Press – Mozambique. Louisiana, USA/Maputo, Mozambique — The Câmara de Comércio Moçambique–Estados Unidos da América (CCMUSA) and the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Foundation (LCCF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening economic, commercial, and institutional collaboration between Mozambique and the State of Louisiana in the United States.

The MoU was signed by Onório Ernesto Manuel Boane, President of CCMUSA, and David St. Etienne, President of LCCF, reflecting both institutions’ shared commitment to promoting mutually beneficial business opportunities and sustainable economic development.

Under the agreement, CCMUSA and LCCF will collaborate on initiatives designed to support their respective business communities, with a particular focus on capacity building, training, advocacy strengthening, policy development support, research and development, and institutional cooperation. The partnership also emphasizes knowledge exchange, joint events, and networking platforms that connect businesses, investors, and industry stakeholders from both regions.

LCCF President David St. Etienne stated:
“Louisiana’s expertise in energy, trade, and workforce development positions LCCF to collaborate

meaningfully with CCMUSA in advancing innovation, small business growth, and cross‐border investment. This MoU demonstrates how international partnerships can strengthen supply chains, encourage innovation, and build the workforce of tomorrow. These collaborations don’t just drive trade; they create sustainable jobs, expand skills development, and support shared prosperity for future generations. I also want to recognize Board Members Arkebia Matthews‐Johnson and Jeannine Scott for their strategic leadership in bringing this partnership to fruition.”

A key area of collaboration identified in the MoU is the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) sector, alongside other shared priorities and emerging opportunities. Through joint programs and initiatives, the Parties aim to support participation across the LNG value chain, facilitate investment, and strengthen local and regional business opportunities.

Onório Ernesto Manuel Boane, President of CCMUSA stated:

“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to strengthening economic cooperation between Mozambique and the United States. Through this collaboration, we aim to expand opportunities for our members, enhance bilateral business engagement, and support Mozambique’s long‐term economic development. The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding marks a significant step in advancing coordinated, strategic, and mutually beneficial growth for both nations.”

The MoU provides a flexible framework that allows both organizations to pursue additional partnerships while working jointly on agreed initiatives. Through this collaboration, CCMUSA and LCCF seek to create long-term value for their members and contribute to stronger commercial ties between Mozambique and the United States.
