Africa-Press – Mozambique. Statement from the Administrative Tribunal of Maputo City
Reports circulating on some television channels and social media claim that a raid is underway at the Administrative Tribunal of Maputo City (TACM), allegedly linked to accusations that certain magistrates and their teams were demanding monetary payments to approve or expedite specific cases, to the detriment of others.
It should be clarified that the operation forms part of a criminal investigation being conducted by the Central Office for Combating Corruption, following a complaint filed by the Administrative Tribunal against unspecified public servants, over suspected illicit payments and forgery of “visas” (approvals) in public procurement cases.
This procedure is part of measures being adopted within the Administrative Tribunal to fight corruption and promote integrity and professional ethics.
The TACM will continue to cooperate with the competent authorities to clarify the facts and hold those responsible accountable.
We reiterate that the TACM remains committed to serving citizens with transparency, impartiality and respect for the law, strengthening public confidence and ensuring the institution remains free from corruption or any form of favouritism.
Sincerely,
Maputo, 11 February 2026
