Africa-Press – Mozambique. Mozambican President Daniel Chapo believes that the expansion of Italian projects in Mozambique would boost the development of local communities.

According to the President, who was speaking on Monday at a press conference marking the end of his participation at the African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Italy intends to expand its development projects in Mozambique.

He explained that these projects are part of the Mattei Plan, an initiative by the Italian government that establishes strategic and sustainable cooperation with African countries.

This interest was expressed by the Italian government in the Ethiopian capital, during the Italy-Africa Summit, held on the sidelines of the African Union summit in Addis Ababa.

“Mozambique is one of the country’s that benefits from Mattei Plan, which promotes structuring project projects such as the Manica agri-food centre. Italy also funds the youth entrepreneurship promotion project in the central province of Manica. We call for more projects in order to generate more jobs for young people, especially women”, he said.
