Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Government announced on Tuesday the reintroduction of the subject Moral, Civic and Patriotic Education in the general and technical subsystems of the National Education System (SNE).
According to the Government spokesperson, Inocêncio Impissa, the subject aims to strengthen social cohesion and national identity by promoting ethical values, civic awareness and love of country.
The initiative also comes in response to repeated requests from society, including community and religious leaders, as well as women’s groups, who advocate the structured restoration of moral values.
The Government considers the erosion of values to be a recurring concern and maintains that the subject could extend beyond students to society as a whole, including through social media and other communication channels.
